I'm headed to Scotland in June and would like to know some great places to check out. My family is from Scotland (Great Grandparents) but I don't know much about our history or the country.

I'm from Scotland and suggest you go into the highlands and also visit the capital, Edinburgh. It's a beautiful city with a lot of things to do and a lovely castle up above the main street. The Royal Mile is where all the touristy shops are and i would suggest visiting some of the gallaries below. As for the highlands Aviemore is a lovely place to go. I think you should do both to get a good impression of the country. I hope you have fun! Oh and it rains more on the West coast so keep that in mind. ;]

Heya, as the previous poster said, I too have roots in Scotland although I only just found it out last year. I would love to go there and I hope you have a wonderful time. Our family originated in Fraserburgh, Aberdeen and I would go there if I went to Scotland. I suppose you would want to go to wherever your family is from.
Tanika.
