That great voice of understanding, Dr. Laura Schleshinger, is on Larry King tonight. She's bad mouthing YouTube as being the cause of the girl getting beaten up on tape and placed on YouTube. She says everybody wants 15 minutes of fame and this is the new way of getting it. Using the net and specifically YouTube. What do you think?

You forget that nothing is anyone's fault. Playing Doom and Grand Theft Auto turn kids into murderers. Youtube.com turns them into idiots. The funny thing is that youtube just made it more public. Simple camera phones allow people to trade videos of people being beaten up.

I don't blame Youtube. How can youtube be to blame when these kids parents obviously haven't taught them the simplest lessons of right and wrong? Just because you *can* do something doesn't mean you should, And if you do, it's not that thing's fault. It's the fault of the person who did it. We have got to stop trying to find outside sources to blame.

Well, I think she has a point about everyone wanting 15 mins. of fame. I think that internet sites like Youtube may need to put in some monitoring tools. I often just surf, and it is disturbing when I roll to a site with a youtube clip, especially one I would never have chosen to watch. So for me it would be nice if you had a choice in the load.
Unfortunately, the more people view such senseless, and violent clippings the more people will continue to do such things. I also wonder if these people think that are in such video clippings that they are forever protected from the laws against abuse and violence in our country - they are putting hands down evidence right out there for the world to see and I believe it will come back and bite them in the ......... :)
