why do some people commit suicide?

i would like to share a scene that happened yesterday in our school where this student committed suicide. she jumped off the building and was dead on arrival. i've head she's young, beautiful and smart. too bad her faith with the lord wasnt that strong to stop herself from doing it. do you know any stories to share where they committed suicide too?what was the reason? i do hope these things can be prevented if we have friends who are encountering problems wherein they need to confide with us and as friends, we help them on what theyre going through....
