If your husband smokes in the house where your baby has to breath this second hand smoke it is now considered Child Abuse. Please air out your house and ask him to do his smoking outside. You and your child could develop a number of lung diseases, Cancer and Emphysema are just 2 of the
worst that I know can be caused from second hand smoke.
Ask you doctor to check your childs lungs and throat for any signs of irritation. You need to encourage your husband to quit for the sake of your child, himself, you and all of your family.

Most people I know started smoking because they thought it was cool, and everyone else they knew was already doing it. My parents told me they started smoking because of peer pressure.
It is harmful to the baby. If your husband insists on smoking, I suggest he smokes outside, and if he won't agree to that then he should smoke in a designated room of the house where you and the baby do not go. He might consider having a workshop in the basement where he can smoke and do whatever else he wants.

I am not sure of all the health effects, but do your baby a favor -- make you husband smoke outside. It is wrong for the child to have to breathe that air. I am not a smoker, but my man is -- he goes outside to smoke.
