'Rang De Basanti' Out of Oscar Race

I would call this movie “Perfect” because everything in the movie is at perfect place..nothing is wasted…even great actors like Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher for small roles are not at all wasted…the music of the movie is a good asset…background score is just amazing…. So in short, the movie is worth watching in the theatres and definitely worth adding in your DVD collection… my fav 2 dialog from Movie. "College k gate a ise par hum jingadi ko nachate hai aur College k gate ki dusri taref zingadi hame nachati hai" and 2nd one. "Zindagi jine k sirf do hi tarike hai.. Ek jo ho raha hai vo hone do aur bardasst karte raho ya phir Zimmadari uthao use badal ne ki" gr8 movie.. i will give it 10/10

Rang de basanti was a superb movie but it was not up to the mark to win oscars..water is better choice...

it is really worth a nomination . it was so good. atleast it shud have been nominated for the screen play. it was too good.

why do we have to compare movies at all? these movies belong to different genres and have qualities of their own. RDB is undoubtedly a wonderful movie....but maybe it takes something else to be at the oscars. we haven't seen any of the other nominated movies (from other countries). then why complain?

I think we shouldnt compare the two movies as each of them belong to a different segement and they are targetted towards a totally mutually exclusive group of audiences. I know that i like rang de basanti better than any movie last year but we should say that water didnt deserve to be in the list. I cannot comment on the subject because i havent seen the move water. I think the criteria for oscars is different and if we are not selected we should respect their decision.

Rang De Basanti didn't deserve to go anyway. Omkara would have been my choice. It is vastly better in RDB in every aspect whether it's the performances, direction, camerawork, etc.,.
