I really don't think that it would be a good idea. Many movies have tried to go to TV series, but almost none of them were success. Because making a 2-3 hours movie to become a long running ending TV-series would impact the storyline where it will become unnecessarily longer than the movie. It would have many unnecessary side story that might not be (again) unnecessary to the story and ruin the story. Let the great movie Braveheart become a great movie, not an average kind of TV-series.
