What you will get from it is a lot of confusion. The story flows very well, but it has a bummer of an ending and the main character may as well be cardboard for all the emotion he elicits from you. The movie is a bore. I tried watching it twice and I ended up sleeping both times. You should read this just to know what the fuss is about. But don't take anything you read there as fact, may it be the religious or art-related. Dan Brown has taken them and distorting the information, marked them as facts. It's a fantastical, great adventure book with a really bad ending. You can throw it away after reading it and satisfying your natural curiosity.

I have seen the movie but I really haven't read the book. I enjoyed the movie. But my cousin and my husband who both have read the book said that the movie is nothing compared to the book and they hated the movie. Most of my friends who have read the book said that even though it's fictional, you will really get carried away sometimes and it will really make you think about your own religous beliefs. They say that it would be best to read the book because you will enjoy it more better than the movie.

I've watched it but sad to say I didn't understand a bit. That movie is just a long and boring movie. I wouldn't recommend that movie.

I saw the movie and then read the book, both were very good and were insightful. They are based on some historical facts, some theories and then the rest is fiction. Now whether there is truth to them that is up to you and whether or not you want to investigate it further. Now the theories presented in the book and movie were ones that could really make you think about religion and the chruch. To me they made a lot of sense and I'd be curious to find out more about them however I can't say for sure on any of it. If you do get a chance I would suggest them. They are thought provoking.

It's a pity I have never come across this book. I also desire to know about it if anyone could be of help.

I read the book first before seeing the movie, and I must say it was both good, specially the book because you can see/read even the smallest details. I recommend it but always remember that this is FICTION, there are facts but still the whole book/story is a work of the mind.don't get carried away and end up searching for the holy grail.:)

I read the book. It will keep you tight one chapter to the other. I guess, its more fun reading it, while seeing it in movie. The writer is very good in describing the actual scenarios. Although, the ending will make you say--"really?, that's it?! After all the troubles they've been through.."

the novel is really good...you can get carried away and would want to research more about it---but i will say the book is always better than the movie- although i can say that the movie was also good although i do expect more from it..i think tom hanks was good...but someone else could have played the role better...maybe Nicolas Cage...:-)
