How bad is possesiveness?

How bad is it , if you are possessive about the one whom you love and you are only worried about him/her being safe, What would you suggest, that i can continue with my behavior or should i change it?

I think possesive ness is good in some way but almost it causes disaster in a relationship. the possesive always wants some one to be with him/her all the time and he/she should not contribute to any thing else for the sake of his/her satisfaction. well i think one should be possesive but should be in balance and should understand others problems also.

i think possesivness is not a good quality, it may create problems in a good relation

Possesiveness is not bad. It shows that you consider that person as yours...a part of you. But when possessiveness turns into an obsession....there can be problems. If your being posessive is limited to the welfare of your loved one...it is good. But if it hurts others or your loved one....it can be dangerous and can put your relationship at risk.
