The Cellphone Craze

Why is that people are so getting ga-ga with cellphones? I remember one time, my cousin wanted to buy a N70 unit. She did'nt spend her allowance for 1 whole month. Every time she goes to school, she brings her lunch. Finally, she got her N70. But now, she's getting nuts to buy N80. So what could be the catch on these gadgets? Why are they so getting nuts in getting and jumping from one unit to another?
