please help me to solve my problem

I am from New Delhi,India.My problem is my younger Brother who is 24 year old.He is intelligent,shy guy and recently qualified the UGC-NET exam,actually he has taking tuition when he was in college.During that period he become possesive for one of his student called Nikhil.My problem is my brother's possesiveness for that guy.My brother wants that the Nikhil should obey him and concentrate on his career rather wasting his time in "smoking & Girls" when he disobey him he slits his wrist and give menace that to consume the poison.When i got knowledge about this problem i tried to discuss the issue with my brother and asked him to leave that guy but he behaved so abnormally and also asked me that if you interfere in this matter i will kill myself.My parents also talked to my brother but behaved illmannerly with them.He again and again emotionally blackmail us.We have also discussed this issue with Nikhil's mother she has taken this issue very lightly.My sacrificing his life,relation and selfrespect for that guy.That guy also want to get rid from my brother but my brother don't leave him.My brother used to write the diary and in his diary i found that "his big aim to established the career of that guy".I stop talking to my brother from last 3 months.My brother living as a stranger in our house.He also earns atleast 9000Rs from his tuition but we have'nt get any financial support from him.Please advice me how I tackle this type of situation.My brother has made our home as a hell for us.
