Please help me with computer problem!

I tried to put in a motorola pci adapter. I did the software first then installed the hardware after I shut it off. When I turned it back on the cd was supposed to start back up with the rest of the directions but it didn't. I went to hardware wizard and it says it can't find necessary software eventhough it is in the cdrom. I need the internet for my home job. I lost 4 days already. Please help!
