That someone took the christmas gift you gave them and then they wrapped it and gave it to someone else? Have you ever done this? Why and why not?

I admit I have done this once. I had Christmas with my father's side of the family and my cousin got to toe socks. I HATE having naything between my toes, so I got a gift card, stuff it in one of the socks, and wrapped it up for someone I knew would use them. She did to the point of worn out! But when I got married I recieved many duplicate gifts. The ones I could not return, I put away and gave them out to other newly married couples. We had many weddings the next few years to attend. What else are you suppose to do with all the items you can't use? Throw them away? Yes I could have donated them, but a newly married couple, making house payments and student loan payments. It was nice not to have to spend any extra money for someone else's gifts just starting out. So you never said...but I haven't read through responses yet...Have you?

True, that is a good and an enlightning perspective. Indeed gifts which are useless to one should be given away to someone who you think that can make good use of it. However I think you have to be carefull so that you don't accidentally return the gift to the original sender!

Well as far as i am concerned when i have given a gift to someone that gift is their property! but than again i would feel a little uncomfortable if that same gift were to be given to someone else without any thought of the sentimental value the giver has associated with it! plus it would look quiet awkward if my gift to my girl friend were to turn up at her other best friends house! (acutally i am on very friendly terms with her best friend too!!) :)
