Does anyone else think that the standard of refereeing is getting worse?
I was watching Man UTD vs Aston Villa and Man UTD were drawing 1 - 1 the board goes up at the end of 90 minutes the 4th official signals that there should be '4' Minutes, what is surprising about this is that there was not one subsitution not one major stoppage where did this 4 minutes come from?
Also I watch the spanish league and the referees just blow their whistle every 10 seconds or so and it is so frustrating.
What is it like in other countries?

I am not a great lover of football but my sons and husbands are and they all seem to say the same thing, that when Manchester United play the referees seem to favour them, It does seem to be an ongoing problem with bias referees.

In Portugal the situation is much worse, as a matter of fact, there is an on-going crime process envolving referees who are linked with "bought results" for a while now. I think that it's quite hard to find a good, neutral referee these days due to a bunch of reasons, such as, lots of external pressures falling onto them and it's widely known that they're almost always the first "victims" people fall onto when anything goes wrong within a match. I think that most people forget referees are humans though anyway, and therefore they are allowed to fail sometimes as well, just like everyone else...

You should check my Country, Indonesia..The referee in our League is ridicolous, we only have less that 5 ref that can carry out the game without violance in the game..I think the human ref should replace by robots :)
