well you didnt tell us about whats the game you are thinking to make it? is it for ps2? xbox? game boy? or pc or even a flash game! if its pc, you will get many options like if your game is an rpg game you can use rpg maker and you will be able to make 2d games with it however if you are going to make 3d game you can try game maker (as i know the now support 2d game and 3d games) all that programs will help you to make your own games without needing to learn a new programing lang but if you stil want to use programing lang you should use somethinges like C++ or vb for it
