iL Mare - the original version of the LakeHouse. Which is better?

I first watched "il mare" at school and I can say that I like it better than the English version "the Lakehouse".Il Mare is a Korean film which is about the development of two romantics as each struggles to overcome their own ghosts. This film makes you think about the story after a few days. This creates a slow pace, but yet it captures your attention throughout the film because the pain and emotions of the characters are intriguing. Anyway, go see this film if you haven't. You will be pleasntly impressed.

Well, i first watched the Lake House, and found out that it was just a remake.. So, i was intrigued and watched the original.. I like both movies, Il Mare is more tearjerker especially in the scene where she saw him die due to a car accident, and i like the twist of the story.. Lake house, on the other hand, is great too.. Very romantic! I like the glass house! :)

i actually watched lake house first before watched ilmare. I knew ilmare after watched the synopsis of full house, that the story is taken from korean movie ilmare. Hmm... Because of my curiosity, i look for any korean movies dvd that being sold in the downtown, and buy it. I did buy lake house because the story also nice and always make me cry. I cant say ilmare r lake house is better, because they have similar background of story, about the house (for korean version~ its in the beach, and american version~ its in the lake), the mailbox (the same version that they sent letter to one another for different time line). Anyway, both has nice view and strong point of the story even in american version is already modified like they not only met but also kissed. Hmmm... I love both. Korean version is quiet boring because they talk very little and the story seemed takes more time and it makes me waiting what will happen for the next minutes... ahah. Love these movies. (lake house and sea house?)

i have not watched lake house, but i have watched il mare, so i cannot say which is better. however, i can recommend anyone here who has not watch il mare to watch it. it is a very very good love story. i will try to watch lake house, thanks for the info.

Wait, really?? The Lake House is an English version of Il Mare? I haven't watched The Lake House, but I love Il Mare..

I've seen it..and definitely..it is WAY better than the remake..
Korean movies are very good in love stories..testament to that are their Korean novelas..

'il mare' is definitely better than 'the lakehouse'. i do agree it has a slow pace, but it worked well with the story.
i also noticed that some scenes didn't have dialogues, which was weird at first, but i found myself attached in watching the movie, waiting for the development.

Ive watched Il Mare and it made me cry even their video at You tube still moves me....thats the better one.

For me it would be Il mare. That movie was really good. Jeon Ji hyeon was a good actress and pretty too.
