I'm an American and I never supported this war...I can also say that there were A LOT of Americans that didn't support it from the beginning but the world and our own government chose to ignore this fact. Unfortunately due to the way the media portray's certain events (worldwide media)it was viewed that the all American People wanted this war - which isn't the case at all.
As far as why support is dropping now - this can be attributed to no true plan as far as how to pull out and also the $$ that is being spent - honestly, I'm sure there are a ton more we don't even know about. Our country is at it's highest deficit EVER due to our governments bad choices not to mention the amount of freedoms we as citizen's have lost.
There has been a huge price paid by many here and abroad - most of it in human life - and it's NOT getting any better.

I was not so aware that america had much support for invading Iraq. I feel that the world sympathised with america after the 9/11 attacks, and accepted the invasion of Afghanictan as the price the Taleban had to pay for their support of Al-Qaeeda. The world knows that you cannot attack a world power, and expect there to be no reprisals.
In the UK there were mass marches and protests before the war in Iraq, and Robin Cook resigned from the government before the war, and Clare Short after the war, because of their objections. The LibDem party was against the war, and gained seats at the following general election because the public was against the war. Unfortunately, the citizens wishes were overlooked and Labour politicians took us into the war, with a tissue of lies that Vladimir Putin (Russian Federation President & Ex-KGB) correctly called 'rubbish'. Now even the politicians who backed Tony Blair are running for cover and falsely claiming that they, too, were against the war - most notable of these is Tonys successor-in-waiting, Gordon Brown who will become Prime Minister before September this year.
Since the war Tony Blair and the US have attempted to justify the war because it got rid of a terrible dictator, and whilst few would argue that Saddam was a monster, invading a country to effect leadership change is illegal under international law. The fact that almost every contract issued within Iraq has gone directly to US companies, without any form of tendering, has simply fueled the argument that this was a war for financial gain, not morally founded. The US & UK entered the war on a tenuous previous mandate that most countries did not feel allowed for military action, and the UN were to discuss actually mandating for military action, when it was announced that France, Russia and China would veto any such action. Last week the US attempted to pass a new vague action against Myanmar, but this time Russia and China vetoed this, knowing that America would once again abuse the system and use this pathetic approach to justify military action again.
The US bombed International Press Offices, Hospitals and Schools, especially after the war was 'won' speech in Fallujah, and the residents of this city were left homeless, and therefore could not vote in the elections 2 months later, because they had no premanent residence. That is American democracy!
There is also the Abu Ghraid incidents, the fact that a British General had to write a letter to the residents of a town under British military control, after US troops went in and removed all the men, tortured many of them, and then let them go in the desert. This is not warfare, these are atrocities.
That is why America has very little support left, anywhere in the world.

I think a lot of people are tired of how long it is taking. We are tired of how the Iraqi government isn't capable of handling their own country. We are tired of being the police for them because of all the hateful sectarian violence. We defeated Iraq within months, its the guerilla citizen warfare that Iraqis and their leaders need to stop physically and mentally.

Think the real cause is simple in my mind. Much of the resons given behind the treat of weapons of mass distruction that lead up to the intial start have been proven to be wrong. This was known before but never presented. Had this been more open and honest once it was known, I think the basic concept of trust would still be there. Many agree Saddam's removal was something they wanted to happen. After the so called victory announcement over Saddam, we had fighting that continued. A lot of which was not forth coming. The government set up after this so called victory has not been very effective and policy has been wish washy.
The pure waste and fraud of funds with no oversight by Congress sure hasn't helped either.
The bickering amoung politicians and military has continued to this day. Here we are almost 4 years later and fighting continues in many areas there.
Basiclly, most don't trust the U.S. Government or the Iraq government officals to be honest and do what needs to be done. Let's face it there is no clear way out.
Media and so called experts have surely played the game to keep ratings up and not always been fair to either side of this issue.

Firstly,i thought that when America went to war against Iraq,i thought that really world war came.but God is there is there so no world war, this is america's total mistake. As if he was king in the olden days he is invading the countries,i don't like this at all. So,in my way of thinking only america is loosing supporting in war against iraq.

Its simple that already we are facing so much of humanity loses in terrorism and natural calamities and so all people are not interested in any kind of war.. so they lose the support of war against iraq... human life is precious one.. but we are not aware of those things...
