The Da Vinci Code - Yay or Nay?

Italy

After atleast 6 years of avoiding this book, i finally read it over the last few days. What can I say, someone sent it to us in Italy and we're short on reading material, plus I just finished Democracy in America after three months so some light reading was in order. On the bright side, the book was extremely easy to read and all of the "facts" in the book were interesting to say the least. The main story was fairly lame, it just gets a pass because all of the symbolism in the book is what keeps people interested. The negatives, well, i was really hoping the book would have a bibliography at the end so i could research certain "facts" on my own, then I laughed at myself for thinking a fictional book would have a bibliography that actually supported the "facts" of the book. Overall, it was a good waste of time for 2 days but i'd probably never read it again. thoughts?

Not many people know this but Angels and Demons is actually the prequel to The Da Vinci Code. It is, of course, set in Rome and I would suggest reading it before you read The Da Vinci Code. It is all up to your personal choice though. I think that some of the things written in The Da Vinci Code must be true but it is, without a doubt, a fiction novel. It has no basis in fact and cannot be relied upon for the truth.

it was a good book about cryptology. though there's a big issue regarding religion, but this is all fiction. if you have a strong faith, reading this book wont affect your religious stand. thanks dan brown!
