Why people don't pay much attention to unpredictable weather & climate change?

Why many country leaders,governments,politician and people still don't realize that the climate is changing? Global warming,earthquake,tornadoes,..unpredictable weather. i mean it's very obvious year after year. For example,this year the winter come late for some country. In Swissalps,fake snow has to be used for skiing. It's middle January and i haven't see snow yet,at this time last year the snow fill up the streets. Scientists also predict that 2007 could be the hottest year. Why we care less about this? Do we have to wait until what is potrayed in The Day After Tomorrow,An Unconvenient Truth,etc happened,then all would wake up from their dreams? I'm pretty worried about our world. yes,we have different countries but only one earth,we share it. Can't we just stop thinking about economics and think about this for a while...
