Pigs are banned by moslems so what about dogs?

Mate, they (Muslims) can't even touch dogs and consider dogs as very dirty animals, of course they don't consume dogs too, and of course it's not ok to consume a dog in my opinion having dogs as pets and with its full loyalty and obedience to the owner (me). Pigs somehow you can just cook so many kinds of delicious food out of it, even if I'm beginning to eat less of it, switching to chicken or beef. But my friend told me dogs are not delicious because of the taste as in there's a particular weird and heavy smell of it, while the meat is a bit different when you bite it. Why don't you try and tell us? ^_^
