Are men and women equal?

I've noticed that some people on this site make comments that are very offensive to women or men, it seems to be the same everywhere on the internet.
Do you think men and women should be equal? Do you think one is better than the other?

Of course men and women should be considered equal. Some people on this site are from repressive societies; some are just ignorant. We can try to help these people correct their beliefs.

The thing is we are not the same so cant always treat each other as equals and the more you get into a partner relationship the more you realise that you sometimes just have to accept you are not so important, or not so good at times.
Equality is impossible really, a nice idea but while possible at times it is not at others. For instance women have their time of the month and have to go through child birth, but then they have maternity leave (at least in Britain).
So whilst we are not the same equality is not possible, equality in everyone, be it for whatever reason, is communism and I don't believe that to be a workable system, maybe someone can prove me wrong but thats my view.
Men and women arent equal and equality in everything between even two people would be near on impossible, so its a nice idea and of course we try (or in some peoples cases pretend to try) but we cant be damned for not achieving it as its impossible.

Men and women should be eqaul ,I hate that in some countries women are not treated as eqaul have very few rights and are looked down on .I hope one day it is the same around the world that all people have eqaul right thats my hope any way .

In my opinion yes man and women are equal and complimentary to each other. By the word equal I do not undestand being a photocopy of each other. What I do understand is that they are complimentary for each other. A man can have a strength in one aspect for example physcial strenght, while a woman can have strenght in another aspect for example care, being more sensitive.

When men and women are considered to be less than equal, it leads to oppression. This has generally been the case and still is in many parts of the world for women
