What is the one thing you sold on eBay that surprisingly earned you the most?

I love selling things on eBay and sell pretty normal things but every once in a while you will see a real strange thing that isn't worth much but brings in a bundle. How about you, what have you sold that did far better than you expected?

I sold some sheep slippers. The bidders went crazy on them. They are kinda cute slippers but I wouldn't get in a bidding war then pay $40 US for them. Someone did though. :)

Now selling for over a year my biggest suprise was a set of elves that my sister got from the dumpsters. They were about 3 foot tall and thick styrofoam. They were very old, but in good shape. I had them in my garden all summer~they were cute~my mascots. They ended up selling for about 250.00! Keep on dumpster diving!

Hey it's Good2BMe also. :) I love finding things people throw away and selling them on eBay. You can't beat getting something for nothing, using it for a bit and then making some nice cash off it. Keep on divin'

When I first started selling on ebay, I didn't have much to sell. I first sold a complete collection of M*A*S*H vhs tapes for about $400. That was great. Next, I listed a whole bunch of other vhs tapes from my children's vast collection. I listed a set of 3 Ronald McDonald videos that I had purchased for $2.99 each at McDonalds. They were used, but in excellent condition. You couldn't buy them at McDonald's anymore. Imagine my shock when this set of three tapes that I had started for a .99 opening bid sold for $75! Two people got into a bidding war for them and the winner emailed me, absolutely thrilled that she had won, as soon as the auction ended. Those were the good old days when people actually got into bidding wars on ebay. That rarely happens anymore. Everyone seems to either snipe or use the buy it now option.

Well that's the thing about eBay. There is always, well almost always, someone willing to buy the stuff we don't want or need anymore.

I once sold a pair of legwarmers for $60. They cost me $3 so I was very shocked!
