Batman Begins 2: The Dark Knight

Has anyone seen anything about this movie? obviously it carries on from the last one and has Batman battling The Joker. Which I think is gonna be amazing. The only concern I have is over who is playing The Joker, Heath Ledger. At least as far as I'm aware he is gonna play him. I just can't see him fitting into the role of The Clown Prince of Crime, doesn't seem to be his style. Although I've only really seen him in A Knights Tale but from his role in that it doesn't seem to be anything like The Joker.
I guess only time will tell but I'm not convinced at all.
How do you all feel about it?

I am anticipating this movie. Batman Begins was excellent. It did a much better job of telling the story than any of the previous attempts. Chris Nolan did a great job of writing and directing and Christian Bale was great as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
I tend to think Heath Ledger will do a good job as Joker. If we think about it being the beginnins of the character, we can start with a clean slate. "A Knight's Tale" and "10 Things I Hate About You" are two of my favorite movies and he showed good diversity in them.
Michael Caine is the best Alfred, EVER. He was Alfred.

I see what you mean about it being the beginings of the character but from what we know already is that he already is leaving the joker cards behind, so could he already be The Joker character rather than Jack Napier? I am not up on the comic books so I don't really know the story behind it all.
Michael Caine was great as Alfred and provided some good light comedy I felt, like when he hit the guy from behind when Wayne Manor is on fire 'I hope you're not a fireman' lol, good stuff.
I haven't seen 10 things I hate about you but I guess it is an actors job to adopt different characters, maybe I am under estimating Ledgers ability. I hope I am as I think Batman Begins was a fantastic addition to my DVD collection. The best Batman so far, and I hope that the sequel will carry on the series the way it started.

I think one of the things they have with this story, not worrying about what was done in the other ones, is that they can reinvent the story as they need. It's like Smallville. There are so many problems they would have getting from the series to the movies, but they aren't worried about that. They are just telling the story the way they see it.
If you remember from the first "Batman" movie, it was the Joker who was responsible for killing Bruce's parents. They've already done away with that. So, I think Nolan can make the Joker who he wants him to be.
I have no doubt that Chris Nolan will do it right. I think he could do for Batman what Sam Raimi has done for Spiderman. Sam has made Spiderman his and Chris Nolan can make Batman his.

I agree that Nolan could do big things with the Batman franchise, but from what I can make out it it was the original that changed the Batman story by making The Joker his parents murderer. I believe that in the comics it is Joe Shill that kills them, like in Batman Begins. So I think these new movies are sticking closer to the plot of the original comic series, however I have never read them and so I am unclear as to the exact characterisation of The Joker character.

hopefully then Ledger will be able to live up to the hype for this character. I must say from the actor choices from Batman Begins I have to say that I have confidence that they know what they are doing.

i have head things about this film, i think the storyline will be quite good, but agree with you that heath ledger may not be the best actor to play that role, just not his style; however i could be proved wrong, and am looking forward to seeing this film

I heard that these are two villains go the film. The joker and the two face. But who are the actors? Thats a big question

The Joker will be in it and will be played by Heath Ledger. That much we know. We also know that Harvey Dent, Two-Face, will be in the movie, although we don't know who will play him or if he will have become two face yet or not. It may just be set up for a future sequel.

Heath Ledger is an amazing actor. Very versatile. I think he's going to be an amazing Joker. You can tell just by looking at his face. It's perfect for the role. I can't wait for this movie to come out. Summer of '08, right?
