Does anyone know anything about CT scans or Ever gone through one?

Well, my doc has asked mr to do a CT scan, which i have no idea as to what it is.

My 17 year old daughter had to have a CT scan. We didn't know if her appendix was bad so they had to do one to rule it out. Its just a great big fancy w-ray machine that can see things better.
They don't take that long depending on what you are having scanned. They make you drink a chalky substance and a lot of it.

Its good i suppose, to be sure. The thing about drinking a chalky substance sounds disgusting

It is one of the Diagnostic tests the Doctors recommend before comming to a decision on their diagnosis. Generaly no doctor recomends the CT scan unless it is necessary since it is bit expensive too.
How ever if your Doctor is your family Doctor & you belive him and have the test.There is no harm either there.

Yea, it iz expensive, thats why i was wondering if it is really necessary. But the doc was like, we cannot determine after doing the normal x-ray, so u HAVE to do this.

I have very many health problems and have been through so many tests that it isn't funny. CT scan is most definitely one of the easiest tests that you can have done. It is very quick and painless so if you need a test this is one of the easiest that you can have done.
