My suggestion goes to amazon.com
I buy coin and banknote books there for a fraction of their true price.
I also prefer ancient coins to modern ones, but I do bend at silver proofs.
I used to enjoy restoring old green crusty roman coins brought up from shipwrecks using electrolysis. There is a knack in this, one mistake and the coin is destroyed.
So, I wrote a paper on it and sold it on ebay for a while along with a bag of the chemical needed. I should do this again, it sold very well.
