On January 12, McNaught became the brightest comet in more than 40 years, being the brightest comet seen since Comet Ikeya-Seki in 1965. The comet has been dubbed the Great Comet of 2007. The comet remains visible to Southern Hemisphere observers in both the morning and evening sky.
Has anyone on MyLot been fortunate to see it?

Yes, we saw it. We didn't realise it was a comet until after several minutes of staring at it. The tail was quite small on it. We were so excited about it when we realised.

I missed it and I dont even know how often we are able to see comits. I wish i could have seen it. Where was the best location to view it. Oh well i guess I will have to wait another 100 years or so. I will only be 128 at that time. lol. Good topic.

It passed through the southern hemisphere a few days ago. It was visible in South Africa 2 days ago just around sunset. It was quite spectacular, I must admit.
