Did you see that story on the news about the store owner in Manhattan what is suing the homeless people that stand in front of her store and warm themselves on the heating grade outside!!!! The owner is asking for one million dollars.
I understand that it doesn't look nice for them to be there, but has this person ever been cold? People have no sympathy anymore. I know that there is a better solution than this.
What is your opinion?

That is exactly what I thought. I can't remember if I saw it on the Today show or the local news... I am going to go and search for the article.

You can't get blood out of a turnip. Nor can you get $1,000,000 from a group of homeless people.
They certainly aren't standing outside of your store, because they are inherently wealthy.
If only this woman put the same effort into finding jobs or resources for these people. She'd have fixed the problem just the same, and without going to the trouble of filing a lawsuit.
I swear, some people will sue over anything these days.

Have agree with you about the suite , seems like a waste of time. After all what can they get from the homeless. Costs in suite would have been better spent on local shelter there nearby.

That is a good one...how is she going to collect a million dollars from poor people? I am sure they have homeless insurance that covers this sort of thing. Not to make fun of the homeless, maybe the owner has good reason to not want people hanging around in front of her establishment. The million dollars, where ever it is coming from, could go to build some kind of shelter for the homeless. Then again, I have a hard time beleiving anything in the media.

I think that no one should suffer like that...
Every person deserve having a roof and some food to live..
I think that they should build more temporery house for homeless people..
Where they can live for a while, sleep in a bad and eat normal food until they will find themself a work and will be able to setle themself down.

Well i wouldn't want homeless people around my house, even if they're trying to stay warm. Theres shelters and real jobs to do that. I'd rather they be trying to get a job than just messing around my house.

That is sad. People are so cruel. I don't understand what she thinks she is going to get by sueing them. They would not be homeless if they had any money. Sounds pointless to me. Sounds heartless to me.

I say let her do it. Let her pay the cost of filing and the cost of an Attorney. The people are homeless, they don't have any money. She will be creating herself a HUGE bill and she will never see a penny of it. Plus think of the negative image she just created for her business.
I think it's stupid and courts need to have some sort of screening system to stop these kinds of cases from clogging up the system. REAL cases need to be tried and now have to wait behind this garbage.

I think sueing them is daft. He's not going to get anything out of them. He should have applied instead for some sort of barring order on them to keep them out of the street.
