I totally agree with you! Every woman I've seen put mascara on (inclusing myself) open their mouths a little while applying. I don't think there's a simple scientific answer for this, I think it's just our instinct to do so. I could consiously close my mouth while I do it, but it doesn't feel natural =) Another weird yet natural thing women do while putting make-up on: eyebrows go up/open eyes really wide while putting blusher on.

Not true. I heard this many MANY years ago and made a point of closing my mouth when I put on mascara. Now I automatically close my mouth. So you can put on mascara with a closed mouth :)

lol oh my, yeah i do this and one time i tried not to on purpose but i couldnt not open my mouth!!!!!! i do not know whats up with that, but it is pretty funny we do that...

I think you cant keep your mouth closed, because you're being soooo accurate. I do it too..
