What Is The Scariest Thing That Has Ever Happened To You ?

The scariest thing that has happened to me would have to be when I was a child . My sister and I were woke up in the middle of the night with our parents screaming at us because our house was on fire (actually I woke before my younger sister and had to wake her , the smoke was already getting to her as she was on the top bunk of bunk beds ), one of my parents was screaming for us to jump out the window and the other was sceaming for us to run out the kitchen door . When we got to the kitchen my mother was screaming for us to grab out boots (as it was in the winter) and she was shoving us out the door at the same time (we never did get our boots ), she put us in the car and when she did she realized she did not have her license and ran back into the house (it is amazing what will go through your mind in a scary situation ), it seemed like she was gone forever , I was out of the car and going into the house to get her when she finally came back (in actuallity she was not gone long ), then she took us over to the neighbors and that was when we realized we had left our dogs in the house . My dad ran back into the house to get them but the house was too full of smoke and they were already gone but I will never forget the fear of both my parents running back into a burning building for different things and then we could do nothing as we watched the whole house collapse from the flames .
It is definitely something I will never forget as long as I live .
What is the scariest thing that has ever happened to you ?

That is a pretty amazing story! I am glad to read that you made it out safely! The scariest thing that I have been through is my son almost dying.
I was called to be told that the sitter thought he leg was broken. But I asked what happened and I was told that he fell off the couch.
When I got there, he femur (thigh bone) was difinitely broken! His leg was twisted and without bending that knee, his foot of the legs was right beside his other knee.
He was barely even whimpering. At the time, he was not even 3 years old.
I couldn't even talk to the sitter. I called 911 immediately to have the paramedics come because there was no way I wanted to move him myself!
Long story short, they also found that he had multiple skull fractures. He had also been loosing his hair prior to this happening and I had taken him to the doctor several times. The doctors then came to the realization that he was looking like a chemo baby because he was under so much stress being in this person's care.
My baby couldn't talk because he had a problem with his hearing. So we didn't know what happened and have never found out the truth to this day.
We were lucky that his brain did not swell and cause brain damage or kill him.
He also had broken capillaries front his chest all the way up to his scalp (tiny bruises) from screaming and crying so hard! The doctors feared that he may have ruptured his retinas because he broke many capillaries in his eyes too. But we got lucky there also.
He was in traction for two weeks, a body cast for 2 months, and not able to even try to walk for an additional 2 months. After that, he had to learn to walk all over again.
And for the following year and a half, he suffered post traumatic stress disorder.
That is, he would scream in the middle of the night dreaming and believing that he was going through the whole thing all over again! It was so hard to try to comfort him not knowing exactly what was going through his head. All we could do was hold him, love him, and reassure him that he was okay.
To this day, after a surgery, he now can hear and talk. But we have never asked him about what happened....he is only 5 yrs old and we don't want to bring it all up to the surface again. So, with time, he has healed but the wounds of the heart sustains the pain.

Thank you for the blessings and the heart felt words. He is doing well today.
At this point, I sure hope that he never remembers it!
But I think it is burned in my mind and I will always be fearful and protective.
He sure is a cutey though!!!:)
Here is a picture if you want to see him. He sure does inspire me to be my best and reminds me of the miracle of not loosing him.
Oh! And thank you for sharing your story. I do not talk about this often and your story helped me to talk about it. So, thank you!

I can't imagine all that you and your family have gone through . The thought of something happening to your child would have to be , to me , the scariest thing that could happen to any parent . I would rather go through what I did as a child with the fire then ever have to go through what you did as an adult with your little boy . I hope he is alright and never has to worry about this again .
Thank you very much for your response .
And may God Bless you , your son and your family .

Weeeellll Kiddies,
there's scary, and there's scary. There's fear of bodily harm or the fear for the safety of a loved one - and then there's the fear of the unknown.
I categorize the instinctive fear of an unknown entity as being at the limits of the terror scale. I've had a couple of instances during my lifetime of an independent entity making it's presence known to me in a dream. One was an Angel, I believe, and that was very terrifying - I saw nothing, but I heard a single loud blast of what sounded to me like a trumpet - yet that trumpet blast embodied communication of my guilt and my ultimate destiny, as if communicated by an orator standing at a pedestal and reading aloud from a manuscript. I was terrified for hours after that, not being game to move.
The second instance was from the OTHER direction - this time I actually HEARD a voice, though I didn't see the entity (it was outside a window, and there was no way I was going to look). The voice was quite beautiful, and was very much like the deep, polished, professional voices of the male radio announcers so common across the globe today. And as the entity entered the confines of my dreaming state, it was accompanied by a most uncomfortable buzzing sensation. When I awoke from that experience, again I was too terrified to move, except to grab hold of and clutch a Crucifix from my bed-head. When I went to sleep again, I was again aware of that most irritating buzzing sensation, but this time it seemed to be held off at a distance, at a boundary, so to speak, and it didn't come any closer.
And there were other terrifying experiences, or perhaps more appropriately described as awe-inspiring experiences, because the sensations involved were beyond my waking experience. But that's another story...

The scariest thing that ever happened to me? While I've had several, the one that tops the list would have to be my trip to the store to get junk food when I was a teenager. We had two stores that were within walking range. The closest one is the one that I would usually go to as the store employees were nice and it was a small store. On this day, I walked up to that little store and had a really strange feeling. I turned around and decided to go to the bigger store which was farther away. I didn't know just what I had missed until later that evening when the news came on. Two people were murdered in the store that day, at the same time I would have gone in the store!! I felt horrible about those people of course, but tremendously lucky at the same time.
To this day I trust my instincts!!

Wow! that's pretty scary. I don't have an absolute scariest moment. I have a few very scary ones though:
1) stepping on a snake accidentally with bare feet. Yikes! It happened when i was 20 years old. I didn't get bitten by the snake but I have a huge fear of snakes so it was pretty scary for me to have possibly almost been bitten by one.
2) My mom coming and waking me up in the night when I was 16 years old and handing me a written note saying to call the police! I had kept the phone in my bedroom and she thought someone was breaking into our house. It was the middle of the night and very scary!!! Thankfully the police came right away.
3) Just this past summer when my child was having breathing difficulties and we had to call an ambulance. that was really awful and something I never have to experience again.

Thinking there was someone in the house would be really scary . The fear of something being wrong with one of your children would have to be one of the strongest fears a mother could ever experience .

And another time I was doing flips on a trampoline, and I was in mid air upside down and a friend PUSHED ME! I fell off the trampoline and fell on my head. My esophagus was pinched shut and I couldn't breath. I was scared that I would suffocate. And surprisingly I didn't break my neck.

A tornado hit my house when I was about 6. I'm 14 now. I remember every detail about that night.
I was in my bed and I was watching a Goofy Movie (The Disney Channel Goofy). And all of a sudden my mom bursts in my room and nearly breaks the door off the hinges. And she grabs me and takes me into the bathroom. She held me close and put her hand over my chest, I still hadn't figured out what was happening. And then my father said "My god the dog is in the living room!" And as he went out into the living room we heard a large explosion (transformer blowing up) and then we heard the windows break. And I was scared, because like I said, I still didn't know what was happening. Then my dad came back with my dog. And to let you know, the tornado hadn't hit the house yet, the hurricane had done all this. Just then I heard a noise, a loud roaring noise. It sounded just like a train. And I asked my mother what the noise was. She said it was a tornado. Just then I heard a metallic noise. It was our patio being ripped to shreds. It was made of aluminum. And the oak tree in our back yard fell through the roof, and so did a telephone pole.
That was the scariest moment of my life.

1 of the scariest things was a car crash a while ago
after hitting a tree the car flipped over a couple of times before landing on its roof .. that part was over quick so wasent bad as it was happening but scary after
the most scary part was trying to kick out the window after it stoped
seeing flames on the back of the car and petrol comeing into the car wondering if i would get out before burning
before i got out i remember wishing the crash had killed me so i dident have to die slow in the fire

Omg I can't imagine how scary that would be . Did you end up having to go to the hospital ? I have a huge fear of fire so I can identify with the fear of being burned alive .

I don't believe in supernatural beings since i was a kid, everyone here.. Well, not everyone but most of the people here do believe that they really exist. I was in one of the beautiful place here in our country, together with my friends though i really heard a lot of things about it (such as white lady and the likes..) Spirits etc. out of curiosity we went and spend the night together at that place. The place was a bit scary but im not convince, on our first night we didn't experienced anything.. it's just a typical overnight with girlfriends and some few boyfriends. The second night was a horrible one. Two of us who went to the john and jane saw a little kid.. We just thought that he's just a little kid that is looking for something or playing with other kids but i saw on the clock that it was already 12 in the evening and it is very imposible for a little kid to be out late at night. And he turn his face and saw us. My friend and I don't know what to do. We just look at each other and in our face you can't see nothing and saying that we need to get out of this place. The childs face was white as powder and that time we just pass through him. And when we look again the little kid dissappear. Oh by the way the our friends are sleeping at that time and wake them up to tell them the story

for me, it was back in 2000. . .
I had been sleeping-in when I was awoken by the fact that I was being smothered!
I then realized that I was half-way tied up, arms in submission, with a knife to my back, this was the real deal!
I had to struggle/submit and struggle/submit for what seemed like 20min., and all the while I'm fight'n to get out from under a comfortor that had been wrapped to smother me and tied in place with a telehone cord! Not to mention, that the attacker was trying to get my shorts off. . .
He finally gave-up throwing the knife down as he bolted out the back door roof-patio, and on the third floor noles. . .
I immediately locked myself in my bedroom and frantically called 911, not knowing whether or not the attacker had left or was going to come back, what. . . ?
Anyhow, to make a longer-story shorterned

(got cut-off). . .
the police arrived, about 6 of them, kicked in my front door, which had been barracaded with a chair by the attacker. . . and proceded to identify themselves. . . They found a hood off of one of my ski-jackets on the floor, it had two eyes and a mouth hole cut out from it!
Needless to say, I have been thankful ever since. . .
My guardian angel is so diligent! and Thank God! : )

I think the scariest thing that ever happend to me was when my son (he was three at the time) almost walked out in front of a passing car. We were at a stop light and I thought it turned green, but it was still red: so I started to move and of course he followed me. I stopped but he kept going. I had to grab him quickly and pull him back just as a car zoomed by. My heart was in my throat. My son is now 21 but I will always remember that day. I sometimes think how sad it would have been to have lost him . He has so much to give to the world.

I think one of them was when my sister got knocked down outside our house. I didn't see the accident myself, but I remember her lying unconscious on the footpath and wondering if she was still alive....she was lucky to escape with just a broken arm but at the time there I was very young and just didn't know..

Ill make it short and sweet because i dont want to remember it, but it was the May 3, 1999 tornado that hit Oklahoma. My family and i were home when it our house. We all made it out safely with our 2 of 3 dogs. we couldnt find the big dog, but he was found the next day buried under rubble and trapped. he was fine, thank God. The 2 little ones have since passed on and the big one is still around, but he's 10yrs old now and has arthritis in his legs, which i believe was because his legs were trapped in the rubble and he couldnt get out. But living through that tornado, praying to God because i truly believed i would die that day, was the scariest thing ive been through.

One of mine would be giving birth to my last son, he was in bad shape, heart rate would drop to the 20's and 30's *which is WAY too low for a baby* I thought I was going to lose him, finally he was born with the cord wrapped tightly around his neck, my husband said his whole little face was blue and purple, it happened so fast he couldnt even cut the cord because she had to move quick to get it off him. That really scared me.
