What kind of pictures do you like to take with your digital camera? Are you the kind of person who takes your camera everywhere you go to get candid shots of your family and friends? Do you take you camera with you only when you travel to document your vacation? Or are you the type of person who is inspired to take photos of everything to capture people and objects from an artistic point of view? Please be sure and tell us why and what inspires you to take pictures.

First of all, I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. I enjoy taking photos, though I no longer spend a lot of time with them except on vacations.
I studied fine art photography in college with Becky Young. I then did photojournalism in Graduate school to help make some spare $$. I learned to mix both the work and the fun.
I now take my camera with me most of the time, but rarely get it out. On occasion I still take some pictures, both candid and model pictures, usually the latter when someone requests.
I do believe one can find beauty in nearly everything; you just have to find the right perspective.

I see your point and it is a good one.
I started this discussion because a firend of mine who takes a lot of pictures just for fun and for no real artistic purpose asked me how I can take such great artistic looking shots. I explained to him that I toook my camera everywhere and took pictures of everything. Sometimes I just took pictures but other times I was really trying to capture the moment.
That is the reason why I proposed this discussion to see what others think of their picture taking. Thanks for your reply.

I am definitely out to capture a vinette of a moment in an artistic fashion, even if it's just a photo of my cat! Perhaps that's the perfectionist in me, but even a silly picture needs to be framed up well or else it ends up in the scrap bin at some future point (although mistakes are artistic as well - example: Jazz musicians such as Thelonius Monk). It's really only the cream of the crop of one's photographs which seems to stand the test of time and which you ultimately share with others. So why not take all your pictures with the intent to create art? For me, photography and poetry go hand in hand, as does a conversation. If you aren't mindful of HOW you express something, then no one really cares nor listens or in the worst case scenario, you totally, yet unintentially, offend someone. As a great reggae band, "The Itals" said: "It's not what you do, it's how you do it. It's not what you say, but how you say it."
I have been known to grab the camera spontaneously - i mean how many times have you witnessed something classic and you forgot the camera! Yet at the same time, when I do grab that camera, am I exhibiting the classic OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I struggle with that very thing at concerts. Dance...wait...capture moment....wait...not really in the moment....oh crap...i missed that moment of experience...BUT I have a photo to show the world!!! That's where I come from - I strongly believe that the camera is a vessel which can ultimately change the world. Two more words and then I'm done: Ansel Adams!

I would recommend that you check out flickr.com if you really want to share your artistice photos online. It is free to join and they allow you to store up to 200 photos. After that you can always upgrade for $24.95 per year and have unlimited storage. The great thing about flickr is that there are many artists showing their photos there in a variety of groups. You can really gain some great exposure for your photographs and possibly have a chance to sell them.
As far as taking photos I take mine to capture a moment or a memory. Lately I have been trying to create moments rather then trying to capture them. I take pictures now with certain angles and objects emphasized to convey a moment to everyone else. I want people to look at my work and feel the moment I have created. All pictures taken can be artistic, this is a bit different, it's creating art. The best thing about art is that there are no rules, so go out and create or shoot art as much as you can.

Generally I just take snapshot-type photos of family and friends. Sometimes I try to take artistic-type scenery shots. I'll be able to do this more once I figure out all the many features in my digital camera. I just have to block out some time to sit down with the manual and read it...

Reading the manual is one thing, but I have found that the best way to learn how to take really great pictures is hands on experience. I have had to experiment many times to get shots of things just the way that I want them with the lighting and the angles and shadow effects. Now that I have taken so many pictures I know how my camera is going to react to different situations and I can draw on my past experience when taking new photos.

4. Make money with chatting and online discussions
5. Make money by completing offers and surveys
6. Make money by becoming an affiliate marketer or online auctions
7. Make money by gambling online
8. Various other photography and money making links are also all over the blog

I am new to taking artistic photos but certainly not new to photoblogging. I have been with one site for over 2 years before I went with another site. The subject of my old pictures was my daily life. The subject of my new photoblog is a little more geared towards my artistic side.
My blog has many ways to make money as yours does. It takes some time to build the popularity and get it going however once you have everythin gin place it is a great source for extra income.

Most of my photos are of sporting events. I like to try to capture the action and the emotion of the sport. Some would call that artistic. I am in the process of posting some of my action photos to mylot. Visit me and view my photos as I add more to my photos.

I don't usually keep a camera with me, so most of my decent shots happen when I'm on holiday, just because i have the opportunities. I like to take landscape shotsmostly and pretty much anything that might look good.
I've taken more than ever since my daughter was born, but that is wearing off now. Since joining microstock sites, I will be (hopefully) taking some more artistic and contemporary shots.

Even though I take mine with me everywhere I end up getting very few if any shots. The moment has to strike me to take the pictures now. I think back to how many great things I had seen years ago and had no camera to document the moment. That is hy it goes everywhere with me now.

I carry my digital camera everywhere mainly for taking artistic pictures .. i used to do this with 35 mm films too but the digital technology just made things much easier now .. I would still take snap shots of friends and family but sometimes when the moment allows it i try to make them artistic photos too.

You are absolutely right, the digital technology makes picture taking these days so much easier. You never run out of film and you don't have to wait to see how your pictures turned out anymore. The best thing is that these days you can go right into a store and get your best pictures printed instantly. There is no more waiting for days to get your pictures.

I take my camera every where. Every where we go people know that I will have a camera. 1/2 the time they don't bring theirs because they know I'll have mine, lol!! I take all kinds of pictures. Even ones people wouldn't have thought about. I try to get an artistic point of view as well ;-)

Even if I don't bring my actual camera with e I at least have the camera on my cell phone to take pictures. I had a really nice cell phone that had 3.2 megapixel resolution for photos. Sadly it got stolen and I replaces it with one that has 2.0 megapixels. It takes decent outdoor shots, but indoors it is not good at all. In any event, there is always a camera nearby for when the moment strikes to take a picture!

I take my digital camera with me to as many trips and occaisions as I can. I try really to capture memories and emotions. There have been times when I have forgotten it, and that can be upsetting, if I really wanted to capture certain shots. I like to get poses of people and groups that look fun and interesting. I also like to take scenic pictures. I am trying to get better at it, but it will take sometime for me to perfect my precision and settings on the camera, and to also take shots that are "photographically right." It is fun, even if it can be annoying lugging the camera around (it is pretty small, but I am too, and I am always "askew").

I take mine with me everywhere because sometimes you just never know when you are going to see a great picture opportunity. My camera is medium sized but it fits easily into my jacket pocket. The hard part is getting it out and having the propersettings before taking the shot. Sometimes you don't have very long before the shot itself is gone.

I used to take pictures mostly of my children, and of course expanded it to events . They are grown up now so I don't take near as many pictures. Since I switched to a digital camera I take a lot of pictures of my pets . I also take pictures of objects that I want my online friends to see . The last few months I have started taking picture that I guess would be viewed as artistic . I am always trying to get a good picture of the sun rising, or the ocean or the changing seasons.

I like digital cameras a lot better because you can see right away if you have taken a good picture or not. Most people use camera's to take pictures of their kids or pets or of their vacation. I have taken quite a number of those pictures myself. Lately I have been trying more to express the artistic side of my photos with lighting and colors and angles.

I always bring my camera with me when I go on vacation. I like taking candid shots and document every activity with a picture. I like taking close ups of images, nature, landscapes and black and white. I try to be artistic as much as possible. I'm an outdoor type of person. I guess nature inspires me to take pctures.

I really like photography. Frankly, I take pictures everywhere and anytime because I just want to memorize all the moments of life and different people and different situations. I mostly take pictures of the natural beauties, of my family and relatives, and with friends. Photography is really interesting and helps to keep a good memory of everything in life.

I take it for fun, but if necessary I will do some work on it. I work with some creative programs for my business, so at times I include my pictures there too.
