Why's the world like this?

I just sat here for a while and i wonder. why do we live in a world where the majority suffer in poverty and a minority live in sickening luxury, with the first trillionaire surely not being too far away. why do we live in a world where what's going on in a house full of people we never heard of or forgot existed is more important than war, the economy or the shameful political failings of the day. why do we pay more than ever for an increasingly poor rail service with late trains rude staff poor conditions and limited times. why do i bother? if anyone has the answer to any of these questions or questions of their own please go ahead. :)
