is a certification required for Software QA Engineers?

what do you think?
i am into software QA for 6 years now coming from 3 different companies.
the job is pretty challenging, you find bugs on a programmers code...
but here in the Philippines, we don't have certifications for Software Testing. if one wants to be certified, he'll take it online.
