I don't think wedding rings should have as much importance as they have, or at least some people should realize that it's merely an object, a simple physical prove that once both of that people had the merriest day of their lifes inside a church or whatever. What really counts is what both people feel inside, isn't it?..

well i guess the ring symbolizes the bond of your marriage...and it also tells everybody that you are already married... i think if one wears it, one can feel secure... well i just thought about it that way.. i dont know how others feel about it especially girls... but im not yet married so i dont feel secure...^^

for me the ring on my husbands finger symbolizes his love for me, and the life that we share forever. It reminds me of the vows we made that day to each other. But it is just a symbol. If the love is not there in any relationship the ring means nothing. It is just symbolic for something that you are feeling inside that is pouring out to the outside!!! :)

I like to reply to your posting by qouting the words of a song which says "She wears my ring to show the world that she belongs to me." "She wears my ring to tell the world she's mine eternally" It's a symbol of a committed life. For a wedding ring, that is. Some other rings are just a matter of personal taste and trend.
