I think that avocado is a fruit. I love them. They are good sliced alone, or chopped and put into a salad. It also is great for a dip by mashing and adding a little minced onion and tomato to it.

You know, I think that is a good question.
A fruit is defined as a food containing its own seed. And a veggie is a plant or root.
So, I would think an avocado would be classified as a fruit. But it certainly does not taste like one to me.
I like avocado in my salad. But there is nothing like fresh made guacamole!!!

Ok, I must admit, avocados are on the list of the few things I do NOT like to eat. I just don't care for how mushy and green they are. I really can't stand that green dip either....guacamolli, or however it's spelled? I didn't know if it was a fruit or veggie, looks like fruit is winning out :-)

Actually avocado is a fruit....we eat avocado with milk or an evaporated milk..and we make it a fruit shake... it's somewhat a delicious dessert.. especially this summer season..
they also rich in B Vitamins, as well as Vitamin E, vitamin K and folate. A ripe avocado will yield to a gentle pressure when held in the palm of the hand and squeezed. The flesh is typically greenish yellow to golden yellow when ripe. The flesh oxidizes and turns brown quickly after exposure to air. To prevent this, lime or lemon juice can be added to avocados after they are peeled. The avocado is very popular in vegetarian cuisine, making an excellent substitute for meats in sandwiches and salads because of its high fat content.
The fruit is not sweet, but fatty, strongly flavored, and of smoth, almost creamy texture....
I don't think if what's the taste of putting a mayo on it, but i pretty sure... avocado is best!!!

I like avacados fairly well now, but that hasn't always been the case. I used to think that they were kind of disgusting looking, and even worse tasting. However, I find that guacamole tastes delicious on many things and have begun to eat more avacado as time goes on. I think that they're a fruit. They have a pit, they're almost sweet at times, and just look like fruits. It it looks like a fruit, tastes like a fruit, and has the qualities of a fruit, it must be a fruit.
