I wish to know which of the above styles of working do people follow the most and which one is more rewarding? Any thoughts on above could really help my study! Thanks!!

I am more of a job oriented person. I put the tasks assigned to me above my relationship to the people I work with in the company. This is so because I believe that I am here because of my ability to do the task assigned to me and not because I can realte well to the people around me. However, I do believe that for someone to be comfortable and to be able to do his/her task efficiently; he/she should have good working relations with his/her officemates. In the same way, having done the task assigned to you in an efficient manner allows you to build good working relationships.

You are working in an office, but do you think if you would have been part of the sales team you would have been more people oriented?

If I was part of a marketing/ sales team, I'd have to be oriented with what my clients might need. But then, the fact that i want to be people-oriented just stems from my initial goal which is moved by my being job-oriented. (sorry, if it's a bit confusing po...)

i was relationship oriented, but with the passage of time, i got my responsibilities and then , the time when my orientation itself changed itz way. I was tought that if you dont know where to go....hold yourself standing at a position in life.. this world il itself take you on a way ! because nothing can stop in this world..... itz better that you wake at rite time.. !! have a nice time !

I think you are a mix of both! Great. But I have found people to turn from task to people way as they grow in age. Yours seem to be a reverse case!

Well I am a task oriented person but that does not mean I am not people oriented, you can keep a balance and work bothways. Even while taking tasks you can have personal orientation.

I'm not much of a people person. I am very independent when it comes to work. Maybe it has something to do with my personality. I hate it when people try to meddle with my work unless I ask them to. Otherwise, I lose my concentration easily and get discouraged.

I think I'm a bit of both. I'm a people person and I like interacting with other coworkers, but at the same time I am also task oriented, making sure that i complete the required tasks daily. Being a supervisor you need to be able to do both, supervise workloads, interact with all your staff making sure that they too are working and achieveing the same goals and targets for the unit. I find the job/task oriented styles more rewarding because sometimes incentives or bonuses are offered if you succeed in achieving your targets for the year.
