I too am looking into this and have found that this could be a real challange. I love books so I think that I might enjoy it. I have actually been working on it since last month, but I haven't had the time I need to get it off the ground yet. One person who is very successful at this is Elaine Krieg Smith. Do a search for her website you likely will find some helpful information. I have looked at alot of other sites but hers seems to be the most useful so far. I hope that helps you.

Why do you believe it could be a real challenge?

It is a fairly saturated market with a limited demand. It is not like selling things that people buy on a daily basis. With the growing popularity of Ebooks, that is further going to harm the market.
Where you headed in a certain direction(children's, fiction, etc.). I was primarily going to try to stay mostly with non-fiction. Particularly political, computer, Self-help, and biographies. But I likely will take it into just about any direction. Eventually I will get moving, I hope.

I'm not sure, I would probably go in every direction, but specialize in self-help, new age, and spiritual boos. The self-helps stuff is something I'm pretty familiar with.
What are the steps if you don't mind me asking, i.e. what all do we need?
Since it would be online no need to check out zoning. I would of course have to track down cheap used books, which should be no problem. I would need my own web page...but out of all the different routes to take with this which would you recommend? Then what kind of web page design is best for this type of venture? What forms of marketing should I use? Are there any legal issues I need to consider?
I wish there was an instruction manual out there.
