Are you a secret shopper or mystery shopper?

I have always wanted to try this, but some most of the sites I go to after I fill out all the stuff ask me for money. Which I assume means they are not legit. What companies have you worked for? Did they charge you a fee? Is it really worth the money they pay? How often do you do it?
