Whats the deal with Soccer (futbol) ?

I just dont see the appeal to it...yes i watched the world cup...but i just dont see what makes it so big everywhere in the world...
Maybe some of you can give me some insight?
Why do you watch?

I like it because it's fast. Constant movement makes it exciting to me.

I watch it because.. well I like it. I grew up playing football which thankfully is becomming increasingly common for girls, as I usually to played amongst bunch of guys and constantly 'prove' myself, so naturally I'll watch it.
There's much passion within a game, and stragety, I wouldn't miss it for the world. What's not to like?
