I love to bake as well. I find homemade desserts are much tastier than store bought ones, plus a lot of the time it is cheaper to make it yourself than to buy it. Here is my favorite recipe for molasses cookies:
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c molasses
2 eggs
Cream together. Add:
4 teaspoons baking soda
4 c. flour
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
2 teaspoons ginger
4 teaspoons cinnamon
Mix all together then chill for one hour. Roll into small balls, rolls balls in sugar and press gently with a fork. Baker at 375 for 8-10 minutes. This recipe makes about 5 dozen cookies.
Good luck, hope you enjoy them.

I love to bake when I have the time, My husband even loves it more because he thinks I am the all time best baker. This makes me feel good. I do enjoy it but I think I enjoy pleasing others more. There is nothing more satisfying then someone complementing you on something you have baked for them.
