My friends and I were talking about this exact thing, a couple of days ago. A lot of parents don't take their kids seriously because they "think" they went through it too. What those parents don't realize is how much worse bullying has gotten since they were children. Parents didn't have to face the same problems as youths that our children have to face today. Whoever heard of bringing a knife to school in the 1960s?
Teachers are afraid to intervene because of what may happen to them. Kids have way too much power.
