Because you're 18 I'm assuming you're talking about college so I would say it could be important if you have a definite career in mind. If you don't know what you want to do then maybe a bit of work experience would help you identify what it is you do (and don't) want to do for a career.

This is a great question!
Why not ask some of us 50-year-old's if going to school is important! I'd be almost willing to bet that -most- of us, if we had the chance to do it all over again, would stay in school to learn as much as possible!
As a matter of fact, I ask myself two questions at bedtime every night:
1. Did I help lighten somebody's load today?
and
2. What did I learn today?
You see, Patrice, you -never- stop learning, just the setting is different.
And something I've wished could happen: I wish that at grade nine, kids could stop going to school for two years. Go to work for that time, then they'll understand what/why they need to study!
Good luck to you, and hang in there. I promise you, the time flies!!!

You are too young to stop going to school. Never let those
succesful man mislead you without a better understanding about proper education. School doen't mean all textbook it more on mind cultivation on deciding what is to be done or not and on what time. Divide your time with your school classes and mylot and outing with friends, those are experiences you needed the most to finally decide stop schools.

There are few people who becomes successful without formal education but there are also a lot of people with formal education that has been very successful. We really need education because it is a mandate for us to have a college diploma or high school diploma. It is a must in applying to different companies here in our country.

I think about 80% of what you learn in your high school years is pretty much useless. But a diploma is always nice.

Hi patrice, I am not sure if you are talking of basic schooling such as high school or college. IMO I think college is only important when you know what you are going there for, as in you know what your career goals are. I think people that attend college just to attend and have not clue as to why, are wasting time and money. I have seen too many start college and not have a clue what their goals are until the third year, if ever. To me, that is silly.
