Gossip

No, I don't like to gossip, participate in gossip, or hear gossip. Gossip is like taking a feather pillow and cutting it open in a windstorm. It travels fast, wide and far, and you can never get it back when it's been released. Gossip helps no one, but it almost always hurts the one who is being gossiped about! If you gossip about your friend, then you really aren't their friend, at least that's how I see it.

Honestly, i hate it when ppl do that to me and i see it way too often .. so i always try to make a concious effort to speak of others, when they are not around, in a manner as if they were around. Does that make sense? In other words, if i am telling you about someone else, i have already told that person how i feel.

Sort of but not really negative like. Right now I ask my best friend about all our old friends from school she keeps up with who gets married and has kids and that. I don't really call it gossip except when we talk about ex-boyfriends and how with what they are today that we are so glad we weren't with them.

No. I used to have alot of friends that didn't like each other (I get along with pretty much anyone) so I really didn't care what they were saying. I prefer to gossip about people that we mutually dislike. It's much more fun. Aloha!

No I do not gossip and if others I am around start it, I politely make myself scarce from the conversation. My husband and I are Shawnee and traditionally, pokvano, or malicious gossip, is the only crime worthy of capital punishment...the reasoning being that with a weapon you can kill a man but with a wicked tongue you kill that same man a thousand times over. It is deemed cruel and without mercy.

I hate gossip, it just causes trouble for everyone involved and never benefits anyone in the end.

I don't say anything to anybody that I wouldn't say to the person I am talking about if they were sitting right in front of me. Chances are if I am upset, the person already knows it and I am just venting. I am a blunt person, so I will say it the person before anyone else.

I do not gossip. I think it is very hurtful and wrong. The only time I will talk about someone behind their back is if I am trying to help them somehow by finding out more about the situation-that kind of thing. I don't think that is gossiping though. If someone comes gossiping about someone to me I try to end the conversation or turn it around into saying only positive things about that person. It doesn't always work but it is worth trying.

JoyfulOne said it so well. Gossip is so very hurtful so I don't think anyone should ever do it.
