how to deal with kids..esp when it comes to make them study

these kida are real little rascals..so mischievious , yet so sweet...you just cant be tough with them , but then , somewhere u need to draw a line , which is very difficult itself my niece is 7, and everyday i teach her in the eveing . i let het play till 6. 30 in the evening. after that when i carry her schoolbag and get down to teach her, she fills her eyes with tears. wheni ask whats the reason , she mostly keeps quiet , or meekly says , she wanna play more or watch tv, or she complains that we didnt get her the video CD she demanded yesterday. i dont know what to do. i am mostly strict to her. but then, i hate being like that.
