Well I am from India and heard a lot about Pune. I am really looking forward to visit the place once. But heard it's a pretty costly place......let me know if it is not.

No not at all! This is a city for middle class people as well as for poors too. You can opt the range whichever affordable to you. Monthly lodging expences for a complete family of 4-5 persons will not be more than 5 to 6 thousand rupees and other food and conveyance to say ten thousand for this family. You can even rent a flat for a month in the central area of the city as well. For a normal common man 1000/- is a enough ammount with luxury.
