If the French had had their way and beaten the English during the 17th and 18th centuries and colonised more than they did then - nous serrion tous parlant francais,n'est ce pas?
If the Third Reich had been victorious in WWII then we'd most likely be speaking German -- or half the world would; the other half would be speaking Japanese.

If the US were on the up and up this would be the case, but it does look as if they're on the downhill slide now, so Amerenglish may well be replaced by Chinglish.

In encient age England rulled most of the countris of the whole world for which there is a pro-barbe that
Sun do not sink in British Empire
from then English was introduced in those country and USA became powerful country for business, culture etc. US Dollar became the 1st transactionable currency in international Business for which learning English is must for all the national and thus English came 1st language

I think bcuz euorpe has progressed a lot that's y people prefer their attitudes & living ways. So that's y english is preferred.
