It is really bad in India we have long hours of Electricity Black outs.

You are asutly right. I live in varanasi. There are big problem of Electricity. I can't describe you that how am i facing this problem.

It is very hard to store food without electricity and I think I would have to have my own generator for important circuits with a battery backup

ya nice discussion to talk about..some years ago it was very difficult to pass time without electricity as invetors were not present..

we have power crises in pakistan too and around 8 hours electricity goes per day. It has recently got better but government is taking over the problem till next year. It horrible when power goes off.

We have better infrastructure here in the United States but occassionally some places have power problems. The companies are receiving payment to maintain lines they need to improve
