Death sentences versus Euthanasia?

Criminals die while the terribly ill live, what r your views on this? i read recently that a criminal was given a lethal injection and it went wrong, the man lived for 35 minutes, was in distress, had breathing problems and severe chemical burns due to injections..saddam died just in three days after he was convicted, his sentence lasted few seconds. On the other hands those innocents who have no chance of survival and are not able to do any activity, they are suffering with pain and distress, if they want to die then law say its illegal...what are your views on this?
