Well, all I have to go on is that he's brown. I mean, all doggy's are cute but hey. . .
Humm,
have you thought about naming him from inspirations drawn out-of his character, say: his moods, how he shows his love, favorite foods, places to hide things, who he'd be if he were a person, or a cartoon, how he makes you feel. . . Well, you get the idea.
Remember, You'll be calling this name out in the park, whereby, all around will hear-it too. . . So do be choosey.
Some of my suggestions: Teddy(Theodore), Chester(Charleston), Max(Maxamillion), . . .

Maxi. . . Chico(Chocolate ?), Barney(Barnaby), J.D(just DOGG), Dewson, Buddy, Wally(Walnut brownie), J.J(Jackson J), or. . .
how about a favorite poet, chef, actor, or athlete's name, first names, or last names. . .
Course al this would be much easier if given a pic. of your doggy. Nonetheless, you'll want to pick a nickname that can be lengthened, somewhat, for when your doggy is not listenning. . .
My doggy's name is Jasmin (when seriously communicating and/or when she's not listening), and Jazzy or Jazzers for fun!

We named our dog Franklin, although his previous name was DeeOhGee, but I just couldn't picture myself yelling that out the back door. If you could upload a picture of the dog, it might help with name suggestions, too, but here are some:
Java, Jimbo, Flash, Scooter, Skeeter, Byron, Admrial, Floyd, Coco, Choco, Loco, Mojo, Dilbert, Weener, Bean, Pooper, Wahoo, Genius, Edison, Einstein, Albert, Tesla, (any famous scientist you can think of, especailly if your dog is not so bright, to milk the ironic effect (or, in that same vein,if your dog is very bright you could name George Bush...)

The last half of the list were mostly names of dogs I know, or ones we thought about using for our dog, so I can only take credit for Java thru Dilbert.... :-)

In my personal point of view, now, I don't think it's nice to name your pets. I think you should let your pet's name themselves.
What I mean by this is don't just pick the first cute or cool name that you hear. Instead spend time with your pet, watch them & listen to them. Let them help you pick the perfect name. You'll kow when the name is right bcause it will feel right.

I have a Dante' and a Zeus (sorry I'm a sucker for the apostrophe's, not sure why either, maybe it's because my middle name has one :) ).
My husband likes naming our animals after the historical figures (or greek gods, etc.).

Maybe just hang out with him a few days and see what his personality is and go from there. My sister gave us a puppy once and we named him Barney because he was small, thin and afraid of everything like Barney Fife on the old Andy Griffith show.
