A dog lives for 15 (+5 or -5) years. Its a good companion for a long period of time. All the very best wishes for you and your pet-mate.

It depends on what breed the dog is. I think sporting dogs last long than toy dogs, or is it the other way around? But did you know that dog's age is equivalent to times 7 of human age? Like if they're one year old they're actually 7 years old already. Their life span is short compared to humans. And that's what makes me sad about having dogs. Not being able to keep them long enough...

Each breed of dogs have their own period upto which they can live.I've always loved dogs so i think my response would be useful to this discussion. At an average a can dog live upto 12-13 years.
But small dogs like a pomeranian lives upto only 10 years, whereas a labrador retriver can live upto 12 years

look there is no hard and fast rule as to the life expectancy of the dog. But it is said that a dog year is like this 0-1 yrs of a dog it experiences growth like 14 yrs in a human life then every dog year is equal to 7 yrs of human life.

It depends on the dog. I think small dogs tend to live longer than large dogs. I think a good age for a dog to live until is 15. Some live more and some less. I hope for more with my dog.

Somewhere between 10 and 20 yrs. . .It varies from breed to breed. For instance, I have an American-Eskimo minature and I'm told she's got 14 to 16+ years, provided all else goes well. . . (she's a small-medium dog @27 pounds)
I hear that larger dogs live a slightly shorter life, as thier body weight is a bigger burden. Example-Great Danes are only presumed 9-12 years. And smallest doggy's (toy) are also slightly disadvantaged, by thier size, and range between 12-14 yrs. . .
