Quite honestly it would depend on the age of the children. I am a registered home daycare provider so I can have 8 kids all day and up to 14 kids for 2 hours at a time with no help. If school is cancelled because of weather I can have 14 kids all day by myself. I can only have 3 under 18 months or no more than 4 under 24 months. 14 kids sounds like a lot but when some of them are 9 or 10 years old it is not that difficult. The key to this is maintaining control of the situation. If you let the children get out of hand things can get crazy fast.

I have been a stay at home dad to my 2 kids for the past 8 years. On a couple of accassions during that time I've looked after 2 more kids of my friends and found that starting to be a bit of a handfull. S, for me, I'd have to say that 4 would be the max.

Thank you for being honest. I watch eight right now and that is ok for me, but only when they are behaving right.

Honestly? NONE! I've had to babysit my nephew for 12+ hours before (on more than one occasion). Oh, I hope to never have to watch a kid for that long again. I have a hard enough time watching a kid for just a couple hours! I'm just not a big fan of kids. I can't handle them. I simply don't have the patience to deal with them.
