What is Meaningful?

I am just sitting here wondering what to write a discussion about. There are so many ideas that are coming to my mind, but with all of the discussions that people are writing about it is hard to choose just the "right" one. It also makes it hard to pick one because as I read discussions, most are sick and tired of seeing the same thing over and over, or that they want "meaningful" discussions!! I completely understand the "poll" type discussions, and I see the point about the "help me" because sometimes it seems like they really don't need it, or they don't want it.
So here is my deal...anyone who reads this, I want you to tell me what you mean by a "meaningful" discussion. What are the discussions you want to see and are going to respond to. I have many that deal with my life, and they don't have very many responses, but I start one discussion about Mylot and I get over 100!! So please, inform me!! Tell me what you want to talk about!!!

Meaningful is like beautiful I think. It is in the eye of the beholder. What might be meanigful to one person might be totally useless to another. Just post what interests you and what you like to talk about and I'm sure people will take notice and reply. I know I will :)

Ha, ha, I guess we have the same problem. What I find out in here that nobody really wants meaningfull discussions. Sort of double standart.
You can have 160 IQ level and be member of Mensa, but when you start really meaningfull discussion only few people will know what to say.
Beggars and complainers get attention.
I get almost 700 responds for silly question. Not many for good one.
Keep posting with your own standarts :)

Thank you, I will try. I just get so frustrated (I know, I said it before) when I try to talk about stuff that actually means something to me and I get hardly any responses. It makes me think if some people in my past are right in that I am boring...cause no one replies to things that I like or want to talk about!! And you are so right about the beggars and complainers...I have seen and read some of those posts and they get a lot of responses...I just don't get it!!

When I first joined, I responded to discussions like the ones that you had mentioned, but now I tend to stay away from them. And I like your idea...I think I will try that...thanks!!

Somtimes discussions are to narrow and are about somthing that I have no idea about, like nitendo games, or wii. Or indian cricket, or TV shows (I don't watch TV).In general majority of population like to talk about "people" and "relationship". Look at interests and see how namy people joint what interests.

A meaningful discussion is subjective in my opinion. It depends on one's interest. For example I have started a discussion to interpret my dream and I received 31 responses. It results one of my top discussions till now. In my opinion, I created other meaningful discussions but only got a few mere responses.

See, that is exactly what I am talking about!!! I have started many discussions that I thought were meaningful and that others would feel the same, but I don't get very many answers. And so far you are the first one to answer this one and it a day old!!
I just don't understand it sometimes!!! But thank you so much for responding!!!

Just try to express yourself. We have our individuality. And thats the reason why we need to fill up our "INTEREST" so we will know and have an idea what to discuss and what to reply!

Thanks!! As you can see, I have no problem in talking...the numbers you see are from me responding to others discussions. That is why I was asking for other members' ideas as of what in the heck to "discuss" because none of mine really get replies. But I will be looking into my interests to get any ideas.

I think a meaningful discussion is about anything that is important to you. I know a meaningful discussion for me would be about life or love or something just as simple a places I will travel to one day. It is all subjective to the posteer and the reader.

You're right!! It's just so frustrating when you think that you have started the "ultimate" discussion and no one replies!!! I have seen many really good discussions that get passed up all of the time.
